Marissa Kalkman, MS Program Manager, Learning Consortium
Marissa Kalkman serves as the Learning Consortium Program Manager for the Kern National Network for Flourishing in Medicine (KNN). She is a trusted learning and leadership development advisor with professional experience spanning health education, employee well-being, non-profit administration, organizational leadership and curating learning experiences for students and professionals. Prior to joining the team at the KNN, she served as the executive director of a statewide non-profit dedicated to helping 500 Wisconsin employers to support the well-being of their workforces. In that role she led the service mission and business operations to provide a networking community, innovative practices, resources, strategic consultation, learning experiences and professional development.
Marissa’s professional mission is to be a systems-thinking developer of people and strategy — elevating and advancing the notion that our workplaces, learning environments and leaders are responsible to create more access and support for people to live their potential and experience flourishing across their lives. She does her best work when she is supporting leaders and learners through consultative problem-solving, generating ideas, implementing strategies for big impact, and coaching and mentoring others.
She earned a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology and Public Health Education and a Master’s degree in Health Promotion and Health Education from Indiana University. She is a master certified health education specialist (MCHES), a certified wellness practitioner (CWP) and completed the Intrinsic Solutions professional coach training.
Marissa collaborates with program office team members and KNN partners to establish the KNN Learning Consortium — the forum in which members of the movement experience the opportunities to learn, contribute and innovate beyond the knowledge or resources of any one member. The Learning Consortium includes a variety of learning experiences such as the KNN Bridge Builders Learning Community and more.
