The KNN works in partnership with medical schools and other healthcare stakeholders across the nation to transform the profession of medicine and create the conditions for flourishing within healthcare spaces.

Members of the KNN Student Network are creators, presenters, innovators and change agents, with opportunities to advise the KNN on future work, present at events, participate in workgroups, lead initiatives and much more.

Becoming Series

In the virtual Becoming series, students from medical schools across the country convene monthly to explore and practice character strengths essential for becoming the physicians they want to be. Faculty and peer presenters share experiences and facilitate conversation using humanities-based activities. Students explore topics that are deeply meaningful but not often included in formal curricula like building blocks of character, emotional resilience, professional identity formation, driving institutional change and more.

The KNN Student Network encompasses a rapidly growing group of student chapters. Led by student officers, chapters work to advance flourishing at the local level by integrating concepts from the KNN Framework for Flourishing.

Student Conference

Developed for and by KNN students, the KNN Student Conference serves as a space for learners to discuss their experiences in medical school, address challenges they encounter as future physicians and create the essential space to envision a brighter future for the field of medicine.

The 2023 inaugural conference was held at Vanderbilt University School of Medicine with over 50 learners from 15 medical schools. Read More >
