Student Network

Are you seeking meaning, purpose and leadership opportunities throughout your medical training and practice? Interested in helping others flourish through medicine? We need your voice!

The KNN works in partnership with medical schools and other healthcare stakeholders across the nation to transform healthcare’s educational and practice settings and create the conditions for flourishing within healthcare spaces. Members of the KNN student network are creators, presenters, innovators and change agents, with opportunities to advise the KNN on future work, present at events, participate in faculty-led workgroups, lead initiatives and much more.

Along with student-focused events, students can also participate in the KNN's new online community. The virtual community of practice was created as a space to learn, connect, catalyze and reconnect with joy and beauty in medicine, while putting concepts of caring, character and practical wisdom into action to advance flourishing. The online community features a student group where learners can convene and participate in discussions involving medical students and their professional identity formation.

If that sounds like you, we invite you to sign up for updates on student opportunities and join the online community!

Becoming Series

In the KNN-hosted Becoming series, students from medical schools across the country convene monthly to explore and practice character strengths essential for becoming the physicians they want to be. Faculty and peer presentations share experiences and facilitate conversation using art, along with humanities-based activities. Students explore topics that are deeply meaningful but not often included in formal curricula like compassion, kindness, humility, emotion in medicine and more.
