KNN Learner Category

Definition of Learner
For Purposes of Membership and Conference Registration

For purposes of membership and event registration, the KNN defines “learner” as a person who is enrolled in a degree/certificate program (such as BS, MS, PharmD, MD, DO, etc. or a dual-degree program such as MD/PhD, etc.) at a school or equivalent institution. Individuals holding titles such as intern, resident, assistant doctor, junior doctor or equivalent who do not yet hold faculty positions or other independent positions are also considered learners.

Note: Persons already holding advanced/terminal degrees (e.g., PhD, MD, MBA) and with faculty appointments or other employment in their field are not considered to be learners for these purposes.
